MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Project Officer (PO) is vested with providing managerial and technical services for a project entitled "Supporting Creative Applied Researches in the Gaza Strip" including; Preparing applications, templates, selection of successful applicants and potential assigned consultants. The PO will conduct and provide all necessary monitoring and reporting procedures and deliverables.
1-Planning project activities which include the identification of objectives, targeted audiences, and budgets, human and material resources.
2-Assisting QC management in selection of steering committee members, lead communication with potential local partners including universities, ministries and others.
3-Preparing Terms of Reference and ensure transparent selection for potential consultants, follow consultants’ performance and compliance.
4-In cooperation with the assigned consultants, Preparing applications, templates and any other necessary forms and documents.
5-Liaising with, advising and answering enquiries from Applicants, related agencies, university members, academics and any local members.
6-Responsible for handling competitive tendering activities and ensuring transparent selection of successful applicants.
7-Managing and overseeing budget and work done by researchers, including the selection, negotiation of contracts and follow-up on the work.
8-Documentation related to project activities; including Project Approval Documents, Project Interim Reports and Project Completion Reports, etc.
9-In cooperation with assigned consultants, ensuring follow-up on the project pipelines and researches' budget by analyzing interim reports and liaising with grantees when required;
10-In cooperation with assigned consultants, reviewing final project reports of research results and negotiating revisions and/or additional research requirements;
11-Developing any documentation, presentations and tools required for conducting Project activities properly.
12-Representation of Qatar Charity at key events including meetings, workshops and etc.
13-Preparing minutes and meeting reports and ensuring follow-ups.
14-Assessing activities and producing interim and final reports.
15-Contribute to the development of qualitative and quantitative tools through project implementation.
16-Making sure that agreed project deadlines are met and Ensure follow-up on behalf of QC on various activities and requests to ensure timelines are respected and objectives are achieved.
17-Distributing information in a variety of formats.
18-Performing such other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
-The candidate is expected to have postgraduate qualification, at least Master's Degree (in applied sciences, IT, computer engineering, technology, research and development) or other related field with at least 3 years' experience in research with evidence of leadership in research and emphasis on advance qualitative and quantitative analysis.
-Experience in literature review.
-Good understanding of research design, evaluation and sampling techniques.
-Experience in writing scientific publications.
-Strong attention to detail and rigorous methodological approach.
-Results oriented and able to deliver on time.
-Ability to work flexibly and good time management.
-Team leadership, supervisory, and negotiation Skills.
-Computer Skills, word, excel, access, PowerPoint, etc.
-Valid driver’s license.
-Good knowledge of English and Arabic.
-An understanding of and commitment to QC’s mission and values
